Over 100 years of experience
From the inaugural Southern Cross windmill wheeling off the Toowoomba Foundry line in 1903, and the original Southern Cross Water Tank over 100 years ago, nobody has expertise like we do of dealing with Westbrook and Australia’s unique water storage needs.
In the late 60’s, we built the first Bolted Steel Round Water Tank, and have welcomed over half a century of innovation and development since then.
Squatter Tanks were an innovative way for Australians to store vast quantities of water in an effecting and affordable manner – a number of these tanks are still standing to this day.

When the Griffiths family formed the Southern Cross brand out of the Toowoomba Foundry, they almost certainly didn’t know that it would go on to become such an iconic Australian brand, still in operation over a hundred years in the future.

Southern Cross is an Australian owned brand, and we still operate out of Loganholme to this day, assisting Australians from all walks of life, from rural families, to irrigators, to business on industrial sites – even educational institutions.
Reliable in a pinch

Disaster struck the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in 2015, when a water tank built by one of our competitors suffered a devastating structural failure, bursting the tanks and washing approximately 2.5 million litres of destructive water over Kawana way, even sweeping away a family vehicle.

In the wake of the disaster, the developer of the University Hospital site enlisted Southern Cross to engineer and manufacture two new water storage tanks for the site, and the high standard engineering for those tanks has since become a standard for future commercial projects to comply to.
